As you know, the Year 2000 bug is a world-wide challenge. Effecting not just computers,
but any device that uses a calendar date. This includes and is not limited to:
Aircraft, Shipping, Railway, Defense Systems, Traffic Control, Banking Systems,
Telecommunication Satellites, Home Appliances, Audiovisual Equipment, Medical Technology.
While some of your household appliances that use a calendar date may be effected, it
should not hinder their ability to perform. Such as your TV, VCR, and Video Cameras.
But what effect will
the Y2k bug have on automobiles?
It shouldn't have any effect on your automobile. While your car has various
computers for performing multiple tasks, none are calendar dated. Therefore, no
problems should occur. All of the big three 'GM, Ford, Chrysler' are starting to
make their customers aware that no real threat should come from the Y2k bug.
